How To Update Android Phone or Tablet To Latest Version Nougat 7.0
Android users are always curious to update their Android devices to latest version of Android. Sadly many of us Can not enjoy the latest version of Android because of its unavailability for out specific device. But most of us can update our android version to closest to latest versions with few simple steps.
Many of us are unaware that only flagship phones enjoy latest versions for at least few months of its launch. After that time period mobile companies make the latest version of android available for other mobiles too. The latest version of Android up till now is Android Nougat 7-7.1.2.
The Nougat latest version of android is available for the following list of devices (Mobile Phones and Tablets). Up till now these are the only Phones upgraded with latest version of android. All other phones are upgraded to the best closer version to android Nougat which is Marshmallow 6/6.0.1.
Asus Launched the update for whole Asus ZenFone 3.
Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL and Pixel C user can now upgrade their phones to the latest Android Nougat 7.1.2. On the other hand Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P and Nexus 9 users can enjoy Android Nougat 7.1.1 version.
HTC launched Android Nougat 7.0 update for HTC 10, HTC One M9, HTC Bolt and HTC 10 Evo. Update for HTC One A9 is also expected soon.
Huawei launched Android Nougat update for Mate 9, Mate 8, P9, P9 Plus ( in Europe only) and Honor 8 up till now. They delayed the Nougat update for Hauwei P9 Lite, Nova, Nova Plus, Honor 5X, Honor 6X, Honor 5C, Huawei G8 and Mediapad M3.
Motorola launched Android Nougat latest version 7.0 update for Moto Z, Moto Z Play, Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto G and Moto G Plus (4th edition). They held back the nougat update for Droid Maxx 2, Droid Turbo 2, Moto G Play (4th generation), Moto M, Moto X force, Moto Play, Moto X pure edition (third generation), Moto X Style, Moto Z droid, Moto Z Force Droid and Moto Z play Droid. All these pending updates are coming soon.
LG only launched nougat 7.0 update for LG 20 and LG G5. Nougat updates for LG G3, G4 and LG V10 is expected in 3rd and second quarter of the year respectively.
OnePlus released Nougat 7.0 updates for OnePlus 3 And OnePlus 3T recently. OnePlus 2 update is expected soon with no confirmation of release date. Sadly No release for OnePlus X because hardware is not compatible for Nougat.
Samsung launched Nougat 7.0 for Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy A5 (2014 model). The only phones which gets Android nougat 7.1.1 are Galaxy S6/edge/plus. Updates for A5, A3 (2016 mode) and Note 5 are upcoming with not fix release date.
Sony launched Android Nougat 7.0 Update for Xperia X Performance, Xperia XZ, Xperia X. Xperia X Compact, Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium, Z5 Compact Z3+ and Z4 Tablets. Xperia XA and XA ultra are also expected to get Android Nougat 7 in spring 2017. Android nougat 7.1.1 update release for above mentioned phones is also expected.
The only phone with android Nougat update available is XIAOMI MI 5. XIAOMI MI MAX, MI NOTE, MI 4C, MI 4S updates are confirmed to be launch in second quarter of 2017.

How to check the current version of your android Device?
Go to setting menu of you android phone. Scroll down to the bottom until you find about phone option. You can see your current android version under Android version tab.
Note: Existence of newer version of android does not mean that your device will get this version on next update. If you checked your android version by previous method and found out that it is not the latest one. Then follow below mentioned any method to update your phone. Any device running lower then jelly bean android is likely to be rolled out from any kind of support by manufacturer.
Before any further action Back up your data
Make sure that you made a recent back up for you important data especially contacts and images. Normally your data remains safe during a software update but nothing is guaranteed.
Charge your phone Make sure your phone is completely charged or plug in your charger before updating your phone. Shut down during an update can damage phone.

Updating Android version From your Phone Settings
Open setting of your phone. You can identify setting app with its spanner or cog logo.
Scroll down until you reach the bottom. You can see about phone tab. Open this tab. You can find About phone in general setting if your menu is in tabbed settings.
- Click “Software updates” Tab or any tab with similar name.
- You device will search for any latest available update for your phone.
- Device will take you to another window if any update is available.
- You have to check the “Software update available” and select Yes for an update.
- System will start downloading new updates.
- It will takes few minutes depending upon your phone and internet speed.
- Phone will install and reboot on its own after installation.
- Make sure your WiFi connectivity is good.
Updating Android version of my Phone with the help of computer
- Open the official website of your manufacturer. Search for updates availability for your specific android phone. You might have to register your device on their official site to find update download link.
- Download device management software provided by the manufacturer. They are easy to use
- software which helps us to update our android devices on computer. The most famous one is
- Samsung device manager software “Kies”.
- Download the update available for your phone on official website.
- Connect phone with your computer.
- Open device management software and find update command.
- You can now select the file to install. Follow the on screen messages for further guidance.
You can also update your device by visiting any manufacturer outlet in your nearby location. Rooting your device is another option to forcefully update your phone to a higher version. Rooting is not recommended by manufacturer. You will also lose warranty of your new mobile phone after rooting.
